(see last paragraph for info on what not to do)

Aftercare instructions: (Derm Shield, clear sticky bandage)
-Keep new tattoo bandaged for around 24 hours
- Bandage is easiest to remove under warm running water in the shower to loosen the adhesive
-Carefully remove bandage by pulling an edge down, it will slowly release from the skin (do NOT pull it straight up)
- Wash tattoo with unscented soap and warm water
- Allow tattoo to air dry, or pat dry with clean paper towel (do NOT use a bath towel, as they can store bacteria)
- Once dry, place on the additional bandage & leave on for up to 5 days (peel the white side off first when opening the Derma Shield)
- After 5 days, remove bandage, wash tattoo, and dry the same as mentioned previously. You can then add a thin layer of unscented lotion 2-3x per day for at as needed
Please note:
* Blood, plasma, and ink may pool in bandage. This is normal and does not mean you need to remove the bandage early. However if it starts to leak outside of the bandage, remove it and wash the tattoo.
* If you have sensitive skin or an allergy to adhesives, this aftercare option may not be for you. If you begin to develop a rash or redness around the bandage, please remove it immediately and follow the non-adhesive aftercare instructions. Allergic reactions are not typically cause for concern, and typically do not impact the tattoo. If you do have concerns, please contact me or consult your physician.

Additional information regarding all aftercare:
*Do Not submerge or soak your fresh tattoo in any water for the first two weeks of tattoo healing (no hot tubs, swimming, or saunas). Soaking or submerging tattoo will interfere with healing and may cause infection or scarring.
*Do Not pick at your new tattoo! As the tattoo heals, it will develop flakes. This is normal, and you must allow the flakes to fall off naturally. Do not scratch, rub, or abuse the tattoo in any way.
*Do Not expose your new tattoo to direct sunlight for the first two weeks of healing. Keep it covered with clothing. Once your tattoo heals you may go in the sun. Keep in mind that sun exposure will rapidly fade your tattoo, and if you plan to expose it to sunlight, please use sunscreen to protect it.
*Do Not over-hydrate your tattoo, it needs room to breathe. It is best to wait at least 24 hours to exercise following your tattoo.
